description
I rec'd this extortion email which appeared to come from my cox.net account email immediately after changing my password. It wouldn't have concerned me but it came from my own e-mail and it happened right after I changed my password! From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: You have been hacked your password CXXXXXXX1! ! #366660 This is a non-negotiable offer, so please do not waste my personal and other people's time by replying to this email. As you can see i sent email from your email account The hacking was carried out using a hardware vulnerability through which you went online. When you went online, my exploit downloaded my malicious code (rootkit) to your device. I went around the security system in the router, installed an exploit there. This is driver software, I constantly updated it, so antivirus is silent all time. ......... and on it goes for another paragraph.
