"Ryan", "Etsy Customer Service Agent"
country
United States
description
I received notification of several unauthorized charges on my Coinbase Credit Card that has never been used before through Etsy on Tuesday, March 30 2022. I proceeded to look up Etsy's Customer Service number through Google and found the number (855) 834-4009 from an Etsy site that now appears to be compromised. I contacted the number and spoke to an "Etsy Customer Service Agent" who identified as "Ryan". "Ryan" said that several temporary transactions had to be made through Coinbase that would be declined so that all previous transactions from Etsy would be cancelled and asked me to install the AnyDesk iPhone app where "Ryan" proceeded to record my iPhone screen. "Ryan" then compromised my Coinbase account making a total of $2800.00 in unauthorized transactions, including unauthorized purchases of Bitcoin through my PayPal account of $1000.00, an Apple Pay purchase of Bitcoin from Citibank of $750.00, $700 of additional purchases of Bitcoin from my Citibank Debit Card, and a transfer of $395.63 from my Ethereum wallet to the Bitcoin address of "Ryan" at 1Aj7VzErY6rgytzKjEJqGS2Jx2oc1uRZVW. "Ryan" then proceeded to make an illegal and unauthorized transfer from my Citibank account of $350.00. I was also told by "Ryan" to provide the front and back of my Driver's License and a selfie photo that he was maliciously recording through the AnyDesk iPhone app before he proceeded to ask me to scroll through my iPhone settings to record all installed iPhone applications. I also received a text message from "Ryan" at the phone number (669) 228-2434 that showed the Bitcoin address of 1Aj7VzErY6rgytzKjEJqGS2Jx2oc1uRZVW and was told that he could also be reached on his phone at (505) 399-2670. I proceeded to contact Coinbase Customer Support and Coinbase Fraud team about my conversation with "Ryan" who notified me about the compromised Etsy customer service number and unauthorized/fraudulent charges that were placed on my Coinbase/Citibank Debit/Coinbase Credit Card accounts.
