I have SEVERAL emails all saying the same thing. I would like to know if anyone knows how they got my old password. You can look at the other reports to see what the email said, but here are the email addresses I received the threats from: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] I know the threats are empty because I do not even have a webcam so there's no way he could have hacked it, lol. However, I don't like that they have my old password because it's possible I have some forgotten accounts still using that password somewhere out there on the internet. This is also not the first time I have received such a message, and I would like to stop this.

Steven Black<[email protected]> Steven Black <[email protected] This organisation has requested I send 850$ bitcoin to avoid exposing a password that has not been used since I created it within Twitter in 2012 - I have contacted Twitter support but no response has yet been received. The inbound goes on to say I have removed the RAT that I placed sometime ago on your computer after extracting files, contacts and Webcam recordings - I dont have a webcam!! I dont have files on my computer, I work from a pendrive, and certainly dont leave contact information on any computer. I have managed to capture a couple that string from the same email address (I have provided these at the beginning of this description along with the abuser as populated), though a great many number of incoming are not the same address - so far I have received 1800 and still counting...... I have also managed to do some research for myself and reported the annoyance to several criminal organisations across the UK, USA & Germany. I am assured that they will eventually stop - I'm guessing when my capacity reaches 100% I have added a large number of these addresses to my Block Sender list, but as they are sent from a newly created random address, I figured I'm wasting my time.. Deleted box it has to be.. How very clever to be able to use technology in this way but not so clever to leave behind a trail for tracking - People are committing suicide across the world because of idiotic theives like this. I worry for their families.

Quotes a specific and valid password to try and convince you to send him bitcoins in the hope he wont supposedly release information publically. The password however was one for a very specific site which does not contain any confidential information. I've changed that password now. The rest of the information in the email is clearly incorrect, and there will be no bitcoins going anywhere!
