I found rental ad on Craigslist, contacted the listed email, and received more details. Then I visited the place, met a person who pretended to be the landlord (Robert D Van Voast) and have access to the property. He showed me the property (the 2-bed 1-bath unit located at 24111 85th Ave SE, Woodinville, WA, 98072) and asked me to communicated afterwards via emails if I am interested. He is living with his wife and a dog at the same address (a bigger house in the back). I contacted him via emails ([email protected] ; [email protected]) and text messages on his phone number (+12062787163). He send me a signed lease. Per his request I paid $1000 via Zelle to what he said his case manager ([email protected] ; Jalynn Kellam). Then I paid $1455 as first month rent via Bitcoin to the Bitcoin wallet he sent (as I reached the Zelle limit at that time). Then, we had an appointment to hand the keys but he did not show up and did not answer calls-texts. Then he replied later requesting to send more money as the last month rent, etc. At that point I realized it is a scam. I did not suspect before, as I met this person at the place and he lives in a more than one million dollar house in the same address.
