Same one everybody else seems to be getting Dear user of I am a spyware software developer. Your account has been hacked by me in the summer of 2018. I understand that it is hard to believe, but here is my evidence (I sent you this email from your account). The hacking was carried out using a hardware vulnerability through which you went online (Cisco router, vulnerability CVE-2018-0296). I went around the security system in the router, installed an exploit there. When you went online, my exploit downloaded my malicious code (rootkit) to your device. This is driver software, I constantly updated it, so your antivirus is silent all time. Since then I have been following you (I can connect to your device via the VNC protocol). That is, I can see absolutely everything that you do, view and download your files and any data to yourself. I also have access to the camera on your device, and I periodically take photos and videos with you.

Je comprends qu’il est difficile de croire, mais voici mon témoignage: - Je vous ai envoyé cet email depuis votre compte. Le piratage a été effectué à l'aide d'une vulnérabilité matérielle à travers laquelle vous êtes allé en ligne (routeur Cisco, vulnérabilité CVE-2018-0296). J'ai contourné le système de sécurité dans le routeur, installé un exploit là-bas. Lorsque vous êtes allé en ligne, mon exploit a téléchargé mon code malveillant (rootkit) sur votre appareil. Ceci est un logiciel pilote, je le mets à jour en permanence, votre antivirus est donc toujours silencieux. Depuis lors, je vous suis (je peux me connecter à votre appareil via le protocole VNC). Autrement dit, je peux voir absolument tout ce que vous faites, afficher et télécharger vos fichiers et toutes les données vous-même. J'ai également accès à la caméra sur votre appareil et je prends périodiquement des photos et des vidéos avec vous.

Got the same email as everyone else. They asked me for $866. Can we figure out which website was hacked? The message suggests the passwords were hacked as of summer 2018. But the password they gave me was a throwaway one I haven't used in years. So, I imagine it was some service I tried once and then quickly abandoned a long time ago. I don't have any other useful information...
