description
This is a SCAM. In the email I received, it actually included a legit password that had been used by me in the past, which was a bit of a worry. But the reason they had the password is that in 2016 two big hacks occurred where about half a billion email addresses and passwords were collected. My email and the password were in that list.
You can check that the same thing happened with your email by going to https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and entering your email. It will let you know if your email address was one of those in the list. If it is, you should IMMEDIATELY change the password associated with that email, because the hackers (or anybody who got hold of the list) use automated systems to visit sites on the internet and try to use the same details to log in. If you have used the same combination of email and password, with say, your bank, they might be able to get access to your account.
