I had to download an update to electrum. Once that was done, I did my transaction but it switched the destination to the hacker's one.

When opening Electrum on my PC I got a popup telling me to update the software to version 4, with links to the updaters. I did that, restored my seed and the bitcoin that was in my wallet went automatically to above bitcoin address.

Exception phishing of older electron bitcoin client. Got asked to download a new version from my official electron client due to claiming transaction being unsafe, and after that it rerouted the transaction to another bitcoin address than the one I specified.

Today (29.08.20), I installed an old version of electrum that I had saved from when I last accessed my wallet in 2017. When attempting to send funds I was prompted to do a security update. Upon downloading the file and installing it, my entire balance of 1,400 BTC was withdrawn to the scammers address.

Electrum ver. 3 asks to be updated, in a seemingly genuine way, from the program. Transaction impossible without the update. Downloaded electrum 4.0.0. exe which has NO signature and is marked as malware by Avast. As a result approved transaction are redirected to above address and amount is corrected to all wallet content (minus transaction fee). Please boycott that address. I was going to make a transaction from my Electrum 3.** Wallet to my other wallet. When I clicked on the SEND button, an error appeared with a warning that I must update my wallet up to Electrum 4.
